This book is based on the exhibition "Japan in Architecture" held at the Mori Art Museum. Contemporary Japanese architecture is highly regarded around the world, and many countries have been influenced by it, bringing unprecedented changes to global architecture. But where did this situation come from? This exhibition is an ambitious attempt to explore the characteristics of ancient Japanese architecture, how its lineage has spread internationally, and to identify the major trends in Japanese architecture, focusing on the pioneers and mechanisms of sustainable development in the process. The exhibition is divided into nine themes and introduces 100 projects, from Jomon period houses to modern houses, through approximately 400 exhibits (including materials, full-scale models, literature, and interactive devices).
