"Science of the Secondary" is an independent research publication project by Atelier HOKO, focusing on everyday objects and human behavior. The 10th issue centers on toilet paper, documenting the evolution of alternative tools used before its invention. Accompanied by photographs and illustrations by Sokkuan Tye, it details how users fold toilet paper, tearing techniques, finger-force distribution, as well as packaging designs, surface embossing patterns, and the common triangular fold seen in hotels.
