This is a collection of Tokyo Some Komon fabric samples, with small pieces of actual cut fabric affixed to each page, so you can touch and feel the texture, observe how the colours change under different light and look closely at the details of the patterns. Tokyo Some Komon is characterised by the delicacy of its geometric patterns and its dignified elegance. Originating in the patterning of samurai kamishimo, it uses stencils to dye patterns so fine that they appear plain when seen from a distance.
