This volume features works by Shiko Munakata, one of Japan's leading printmakers, and was compiled by Soetsu Yanagi, a key figure in the mingei folk-craft movement. Munakata's distinctive style brings together the spirit of Japanese folk craft and bold expressive power, using strong lines and rich colour. This copy bears Munakata's own brush-written signature, adding to its collectible and artistic interest.
