This book was published by the Raku Museum as a collection of Raku works throughout history to commemorate the return of the artist to Japan and the holding of the "400 Years of Raku Tea Bowls: Tradition and Creation" exhibition at the Suntory Museum of Art in 1998. The content, including the works, essays, and commentary on the works, is somewhat unusual for a publication aimed at Japan, but it has been deliberately produced to follow the content of the catalogues used in the European traveling exhibitions.
