This book was written by Professor Murakami Setsutō, one of Japan's leading kite researchers. Iyo kites are one of the three major kites in Japan and originated in Iyo City, Ehime Prefecture. Iyo kites are characterized by their gorgeous designs and vibrant colors, and many of them feature historical figures, myths, and folklore. This book provides a detailed introduction to the history, manufacturing methods, types, and schools of Iyo kites. In addition to Iyo kites, this book also introduces kites from all over Japan, such as Kanto kites, Kansai kites, Tohoku kites, and Kyushu kites.
