Bernard Leach, a leading figure in the Japanese folk art movement alongside Yanagi Sōetsu, embodied the aesthetic ideals of the “anonymous craftsman” that Yanagi championed. He established a pottery workshop within Yanagi’s estate in Abiko, and later, his works found their natural home in the Japan Folk Crafts Museum, founded by Yanagi himself.
