「NEW BOOKS」Painting the World of Studio Ghibli

This book focuses on the background art that shapes the worlds of these works, selecting 844 pieces from the vast collection of over 1,000 backgrounds drawn for each feature film. The inclusion of these artworks was supervised by art director Yoji Takeshige. Covering all 27 works from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984) to How Do You Live? (2023), these “Studio Ghibli landscapes” were crafted using various techniques such as brushwork, color, perspective, and light and shadow under the direction of the filmmakers. Please enjoy.
