Enku Bokugui Exhibition

Enku and Mokkui were ascetic monks who were active in the 17th and 18th centuries, respectively, and the Buddha statues they carved were pure and solid, and their simple beauty has a divinity that cannot be achieved with any decoration or craftsmanship. The beauty of these two sculptures was hidden for a long time. Without an innocent perspective, it would be difficult to appreciate the value of this simple folk art. The combined exhibition of the two's works can be described as a wonderful dialogue that transcends time and space.
