A photography book of portraits taken by Shimpei Asai from 1966 to 1989. He photographed a wide range of people, including singers, actors, poets, writers and photographers, among them John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Born in Seto, Aichi Prefecture in 1937, Asai worked across a broad range of fields beyond photography, including film, music, criticism and haiku. Through natural, self-assured figures, the book conveys the atmosphere of the times and people's everyday lives.
