Seiju Omoda was a Nihonga painter active from the Taisho era to the early Showa era, also called a "painter of poetic sentiment." His background, born into a family of kimono merchants, is said to have influenced his aesthetic sense, and his works express a distinctly Japanese poetic feeling. While treating subjects similar to Chinese bird-and-flower and landscape painting, he pursued an original expression that imbues details with deep meaning. A collection of works that conveys a clear individuality within its approachability.
