Mirei Shigemori's Garden

Mirei Shigemori is one of Japan's leading landscape gardeners of the Showa era. He left behind many masterpieces, including Matsusaka Castle Garden, Toji Temple Garden in Kyoto, and the Setonaikai Museum of Art Garden. His design philosophy was characterized by simplicity, sophistication, and modernity, and he made a major contribution to the development of Japanese gardens. His artistry is highly regarded.
