Written by the architectural historian Michael Sheridan, this book introduces the SAS House, a masterpiece by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen, through the surviving Room 606. This room is the only one in the SAS Royal Hotel, completed in 1960, that retains its original interior, a precious space that conveys Jacobsen's all-round design talent to the present day. Jacobsen's signature works, such as the Egg Chair and the Swan Chair, were also born from this project. With nearly 500 photographs and drawings, readers can virtually visit the SAS hotel and terminal of the 1960s and gain a deep understanding of the relationship between its design philosophy and Jacobsen's life.
