Vessels hold the hearts of their makers. That heart lies deep within their form, colour and presence, and carries the maker's feelings to resonate with us. When we use vessels chosen in this way, they gradually come to hold the hearts of those who use them. Perhaps growing attached to something is the way a heart comes to dwell in a thing. The book conveys ways of living with vessels and the thoughts of 11 makers.
Chapter 1: Everyday Vessels (rice bowls; bowls; plates; katakuchi lipped bowls; donburi; tea vessels; small vessels)
Chapter 2: Vessel People (Vessels of Living: Teppei Ono; Vessels Wrapping Quiet Kindness: Natsu Hasegawa; With the Inner Voice: Mikiko Iyama; and others)
Chapter 3: Living with Vessels (Vessels came to our home; What vessels to gather first; Caring for vessels is not difficult; and others)
