This is a weighty photobook by Yoshikichi Watabe, a master of documentary photography representing Japan, capturing the nostalgic charm of old Jiangnan. Watabe's distinctive camera work, restrained yet reminiscent of movie scenes, transcends superficial tourist photography to deeply portray the daily lives in Suzhou over 40 years ago.
